Happy New Year! (How is it 2025?)

As we step into a new year, many of us feel the pull to set resolutions or make big changes. But let’s be honest: traditional resolutions often feel rigid, overwhelming, and hard to sustain. That’s why I want to introduce you to a practice that’s more compassionate, flexible, and meaningful: the Holistic Word of the Year.

This simple yet powerful tool is all about choosing one word to serve as your anchor for the year ahead. Unlike a resolution that focuses on fixed outcomes, your word of the year is an intention that can grow and evolve with you. It’s a practice grounded in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, a framework that helps you explore balance, growth, and connection across all areas of your life, from physical and emotional wellness to your relationships and career.

I’ve been using this practice myself since 2017 and guiding my clients through it since 2018. Each year, it’s been a way to reconnect with what matters most, even as life shifts and surprises us. Now, I’m thrilled to share it with you as a free resource you can easily use at home.

How It Works

The Holistic Word of the Year PDF guide walks you through reflective prompts to help you choose your word and embody it across the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Whether your word is "Balance," "Rooted," "Love," or something uniquely yours, this guide helps you make it meaningful and actionable.

You can print the guide for journaling with your favorite pens and highlighters or download it digitally to use on an iPad or tablet. However you choose to engage with it, the process is designed to be flexible and meet you where you are.
